Welcome to the 4-Year Old Room!
Miss Holly
Welcome to Raising Daisies Daycare. My name is Miss Holly. I will begin telling you a little about myself. I am young, fun, and energetic. On my free time I enjoy spending time with my daughter, riding my Harley and shopping. I have lived in Loveland, Colorado for 4 years.
I have been with Raising Daisies Daycare ever since they have opened, which was February 2004, I always like saying that. I have seen the many changes and improvements to continue quality childcare. Furthermore, I have been able to meet the children on their first day and have been able to watch them grow in all developmental areas.
My job description in the beginning of employment was assisting in classroom’s and helping wherever it is needed including substituting for the teacher’s when they were out sick or on vacation. After three years of working all the different age groups I have found myself to enjoy the preschooler’s the most. I then decided to take the Preschool group leader position in 2008. In April 2009 the Pre-K position opened and I decided to move over with my preschooler’s to a new room and environment. This way I can be with the first group of kid’s I started with until they go to Kindergarten. It has made it easier for the children to transition rooms because we are both familiar with each other.
Our staff team all work together and work very well with sharing ideas and helping each other out with the overload, LESSON PLANNING. I keep very busy planning lesson’s, activities, science and math project’s, along with daily exercises for my wonderful group of children. My favorite thing about the day is when we review our lessons and I get a positive response from each child about what they have learned. This helps me reflect on my teaching strategies. Most of all I enjoy music and dance, I feel it help’s one to stay young. In addition, I must say a day does not go by without having a smile on my face.
I have 6 college credits in early childhood. Furthermore, I have taken 120 clock training hour’s in the last eight years. These clock hours have been in numerous areas. I have listed some below.
Curriculum planning, positive discipline techniques, safety, nutrition, professional development, parent communication, classroom set-up, classroom management, daily scheduling/structure, special needs, etc. I am also trained in First Aid, CPR, Medication Administration, Universal Precautions, and I am very familiar with the state licensing rules for child care centers. I also have familiarized myself with the Qualistar environmental rating scale which is used to improve quality in child care.
I am looking forward to building an everlasting, trusting, and nourishing relationship with your child. We have conferences every three-four month’s to discuss progress and development about your child. This is a great way we can get to know each other better. Please come by and visit any time to observe and see how much we love to learn and play.
Thank you,
Miss Holly
